Ice Age The Meltdown 
I must really have wanted to see Ice Age the Meltdown . A friend had free passes to a early morning screening out in Westwood.
Thats 9:30 am.
Its easy to wake-up when you really want to get there.
So off I drove to Westwood for the 9:30 am screening.
Turned out there was a bunch of construction going on Wilshire Blvd. And I missed the entrance to the theatre parking. I had to drive around the block, and come back up. By the time I arrived at the parking, there was a huge line of all us last minute people.
I arrive at the theatre. My friend runs up to me.
"Oh, Donna - you missed Jon Cryer . I know how much you like him."
Ugh. Bummer.
We go in to get seats. Now that I am going the Flickr thing, I carry my little powershot in my purse every where.
The security guards were collecting cell phone cameras.
And I am an honest person.
"Oh, here - you might want to hold on to this too" I say, taking the powershot out of my purse.
Three security guards in complete unison "OH MY God ! Its a Camera ! OH NO ! We need that !"
I'm looking at them thinking "Ok, calm down."
They place my cell phone and powershot in a little plastic bag, and give me a ticket.
My friend is holding seats, and we get settled along with the one zillion children in the theatre.
I decide that I don't care if its 10 am in the morning, I will need Popcorn for this movie.
so I go to get in line at the concession stand.
And who am I standing in line right behind ? Jon Cryer
Who is holding his child as they wait in line.
Right in front of me.
Oh, yes !!!!
This is such a good day.
I review the situation. He is talking with his child about some of the movie posters hanging in the lobby.
I decide its really not a good time to interrupt.
Its not a professional event. And he's spending time with his kid. A Family moment. And I am way to polite.
So I just evesdrop and look in his direction every now and again.
Let me say at this time, one of my top ten favorite movies is Hiding Out from 1987.
If you haven't seen it, you need to rent it.
At a video party back in the early 90s, I made my friends rent it. No one really wanted to watch it. After it was over, they all turned to me "That was really good ! We are glad you suggested that movie."
So take my suggestion, and rent that movie.
Back in my seat, I tell my friend that I am so happy because Jon Cryer was in line right in front of me.
And I was polite, and didn't speak to him.
Finally Ice Age the Meltdown starts. I LOVED it !
can I say "I Loved it !" again and again.
A movie for both adults and children. Very funny. Great comedy lines.
Cute characters. Hysterical.
And so worth arriving in Westwood at 9:30 am.
It may be one of those rare movies that I see twice.
Afterwards, we walked around Westwood. Stopped in at Elysee Bakery for lunch. I had a wonderful chicken sandwich.
So it was a very good day - or should I say morning - out in Westwood.
