Well, here in Los Angeles, it sure does feel like Spring is here ! Its sunny and warm. I opened the drapes and windows in my apartment yesterday, and my cat just loved it. She was rolling around in the sunbeams. We had a few big rain downpours just last week. I guess all that rain cleared up the sky so the sun could shine through. But with the weather in Southern California, who knows.. it could be raining again tomorrow.

Yes, I was glued to my television set for the Oscar broadcast. I love Billy Crystal ! He is by far the funniest host they have ever had. I had the wonderful opportunity to see the movie "Cold Mountain" at a Woman in Film event. Afterwards, both Stingand T-Bone Burnett were there to talk about the music. It was a wonderful event and I really enjoyed hearing them talking about creating the traditional music for the film. |

The weekend of the Oscars, I was running around trying to see the last of the movies. Every Oscar year, I try to see as many nominees as possible. So on Friday night I ran to the Laemmle on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood, and I saw "Monster". Then on Saturday, I did a double-feature at The Grove - I saw "In America" and "House of Sand and Fog" ...and yes, I did not sneak in, I paid matinee price for both movies. Then on Sunday, I caught the earliest show at the Fairfax of "Whale Rider". As I was driving back to my apartment up Beverly Blvd, I looked north towards Hollywood Blvd, and there were already helicopters and advertising Blimps flying over Hollywood and Highland even though the Oscar ceremonies were still a few hours away. Even though I tried my best, I still did not catch a few movies in time for the ceremonies... City of God and Triplettes of Belleville and Pieces of April were the ones that I missed. And now that the Ocars are over with, all new movies are hitting the theatres.

What else have I been up to ? Well, I did some volunteer work for The Blank Theatre Company. Mainly just was House-Manager for their Living Room Series. Had a fun time at Wolfesden Anti-Valentine Party at the Hollywood Billiard club. I'm involved in another Short Film for Group 101. It is called "The Suitcase", and I have a supporting role as a customer who keeps getting the main characater fired. In the first scene, he is a salesman at a shoe store showing me shoes,and when he falls asleep, I blow my whistle and get him fired. Then in my next scene he is a waiter at a restaurant, and when he accidently picks up my wallet, I blow my whistle and get him fired. It will be a really good short movie. Then I also got a union extra job on the film "Whiplash" - also know as "The Storyteller". Debe Waissman Casting called me, and the director had picked me from my photo just for the role. It was extra work, they filmed us as we walked down the street. But it was a really fun day. Also, I saw a really funny comedy show done by some of the people in Wolfesden, Dea Vise and Billy Damota. It was called "Vise Grip" and was at the Acme Theatre Company. Two of my friends from my volunteer work at the Egyptian came, and we really enjoyed the show. |

I have made some updates to my website. First, My Poetry Pages are updated. This pretty much brings me up to date on all the poetry I have written up to this point. New poems will be added as I write them. And for all you Actors out there, I have added an Actors Link page. These are links to anything Acting related around the Los Angeles are. If you have any links to add, just let me know. I am trying to build pages of my favorite recipes. Its going kind of slow, so it might be a few weeks before I get any of them posted. Well, I am out of here to enjoy the sun while it lasts. |
