24 Hour Daydream

If I could stop rushing around
and realize you won't settle down
If I could play it cool
just to see what you would do
But I can't stop gazing at you
over books
and desks
and the rest of the world

I run to get there to be by you
When I do, I do nothing but look at you
And I cried today three hours
over you
I can't do the things before me
I can only think about you
And as I am crying now
you are having fun with your friends
and I'm the farthest thing from your mind

Common sense says stop
this 24 hour day dream
My heart says
for God's sake, get a hold of yourself
But theres something that says
there is always a tomorrow
where you could change your mind

No, don't look at me like I'm crazy
I'm not crazy, I'm in love with you
But if love makes me crazy
then I know I've been committed for life

Maybe I should stop this 24 hour daydream
Maybe I should get a hold of myself
But theres always a tomorrow
and you could change your mind

If friends ever forget you
I'll come running to comfort you
If theres an earthquake
I'll come running to help you
If you get in trouble
I still want to be with you

Don't ignore this quiet fool
If you don't love me tell me
If you don't, I'll assume you do
And they were lying to me about you
I'm just a quiet fool for you

Common sense says stop
this 24 hour day dream
My heart says
for God's sake, get a hold of yourself
But theres something that says
there is always a tomorrow
where you could change your mind
