They Who Shaped My Destiny

They who shaped my destiny
Wouldn't look on the good side of me
They who shaped my destiny
Didn't know what was right for me
They who shaped my destiny
Never liked me

Of all the people I once knew
I most of all remember you
You led my days
In the wrong ways

How did I say your admired?
How did I say your inspired?
There weren't many ways
You were to embarrassed
if I would look, or talk to you
You knew I was real
But opinions meant more to you

How could you think you knew me?
Whenever you saw me I was crying
I never smiled
But all that while
You knew I was really trying
And when I tried to keep the pace
I saw a guilty look on your face
Some once told me
Thats not how you were meant to be

I promise never to call you
Not to put you on the spot
And in case I forgot
Don't worry about your destiny
It will be fine, as far as I can see
I wish I could say the same for me
