Poetry and Lyrics

1973 to 1974
Freshman Year - High School

They're Following Us

They're following us
what are we to do?
And after that
they've listened
to everything we've said
Next Christmas
I promise
to wish for a bicycle instead

It could just be
our imaginations
Or it could just be
crazy hallucinations

Oh, God, why can't this year be through
Or at least tell us
what are we supposed to do
'Cause we're confused

They're talking so loud
what are we to do
He is starring
and he is swearing
that he had no date on New Years eve
They watched a football game

They're following me
what am I to do
This really could be a wish come true
But I wish I knew
what they expect me to do
My voice is stuck

They've stopped following us
what are we to do
This was my wish come true
But we didn't know what to do
We were confused

They're avoiding me
what am I to do
I'm distressed
and feel so depressed
He gave up on me
and I didn't know what to do
When anything at all
might have done
