The Story

You have no right to do this to me
Do I have the right
to do that
to you

The all-night party
where you chose to ignore me
The calculated plays
that just got in the way

The second all-night party
I couldn't go to
because I was remembering
that first all-night party

Please try to understand
I don't blame you
I don't blame them
I blame the innocent little girl
who thought she could own you

Don't go in there
she's there
Don't go in there
Understand
They won't let me in there
They won't let me go by you
They won't let you understand

And you would cry
if you ever saw what I did
to the wonderful present
I worked so hard for
You would never understand
That I am me
and you are you
Tell your friends this is no crush
I'm finally growing up
in a way thats different from you
Its so easy to remember
and hard to forget

Notes on an english desk
are games little girls play
But a deep down felt request
is something a women would say
Do you have the right to do this to me?
Do I have the right
to do that
to you

I nearly dreamt this time away
but I gained it all back today
I guess it was a lucky day
Because I finally understand
That I am me
you are you
You have rights
I have rights too
