Life is a carnival
Its one big game
Life is a circus
But its never the same
When I was a child
I loved to go to carnivals
and ride the merry-go-round
Then I got wild
Broke down at the carnivals
Life had let me down
Now I want to ride the ponies again
The biggest prize, mine to win
I want to spin around
And stop and not fall down
I want to be a little girl
no cares in the world
I want to be young
Sing nursery rhymes I never sung
I want to go to the circus
and laugh at the clowns
And have no more sorrows
Nothing to bring me down
I don't want to grow up
don't want responsibilities
I want to be a child
I want to be me
