Bubblegum

Carol liked Davey, Barbara liked Mike
We loved to watch The Monkees on TV at night
But you were the one
to make a Believer out of me
You were far cuter
than what I watched on TV
We fell in love
listening to Bubblegum

Beth and I dreamed we were Veronica and Betty
We laughed, danced and sang along with The Archies
But your Sugar Sugar
was no funny Cartoon
Seriously you gazed in my eyes
on a Saturday afternoon
We fell in love
listening to Bubblegum

We both looked like Keith and Laurie
That Partridge bus must have been a party
I didn't need to think
of how I felt about you
I was absoultely sure
I was in love with you
We fell in love
listening to Bubblegum

Everyone said we were way to young
Like Donnie sang, it had to be Puppy Love
As we listened to the Osmonds sing
You asked me to wear your ring
And we held hands
and sang along with Bubblegum
