The Internet and The Flu
Here's what you do when you are stuck at home sick with the flu on a weekend.
You click on FluWatch.com , and you click on your state to see if you really do have the flu.
Or you can go to the Weather.com Flu Reports and see what it says about your state.
And guess what ? As of March 3 ... in the state of California, we were having the Flu.
So I didn't image it ... I really am sick with the flu.
I am so sick with the flu, I even made - and ate - Jello !

Its The Bad Flu
Basically, I spent two days weak, feverish and shivering.
I got up, trying to have some coffee - and I couldn't even hold the newspaper up.
It was an effort to get to the telephone and call my office to say I was sick.
I sat on the couch with the coffee and newspaper - and it was to much effort.
I put them down, and just laid back down on the sofa.
All I could do was watch Live with Regis and Kelly , and The View - as I dosed in and out of sleep.
Occasionally, I was awake to watch Ellen Degeneres .

Oh, No... its the Flu
So I went out tonight. I was with friends, and enjoying myself.
But I couldn't take my coat off - I was freezing.
Well, it was a really cold night out. But I was super cold. Teeth Chattering cold.
Then, the fever started.
Oh, no... I'm sick.
The minute I realized I was sick, I left.
But the time I got home, it was official - I had the Flu.
The Real Flu.
Where you pile 20 blankets on top of you, but you are still underneath them all shivering away.
It was not a good night.

Little Children
I was rushing to make it to the Laemmle Sunset 5 for a screening of Little Children .
I made it, but realized I had no cash.
So in the 8000 Sunset complex, I try to use the ATM.
And it won't accept my card. It just keeps spitting it back out.
So I run across Sunset, to the gas station and Mini-mart across the street.
It crosses my mind that if the card is somehow damaged, that I don't have enough cash on me to get out of the parking structure.
But my ATM card does indeed work at the Mini-Mart ATM, and I press "okay" when the machine says it will charge me an arm and a leg in order to withdraw my own money.
Finally, I make it to the Laemmle's sunset 5 to see Little Children.
Its a very dramatic movie. I wanted to see it because of the outstanding acting performances.
And yes, all the acting is really incredible.
Little Children is very dramatic and serious. Its not just a story about a child molester - that is only part of the story.
Its a story of how grown adults can act like little children in their own ways. And how their childish decisions effect their lives.
Jackie Earle Haley is outstanding in this as the local child molester, he certainly did deserve the Best Supporting Actor Oscar Nomination.
Its great to see how after being a child actor in the Bad News Bears movies of 70's, that he's continued on with his acting career in adult life.
He is very talented, and I think we will be seeing him in alot more award-winning roles in the future.

The Oscars
Volunteered at the Egyptian Theatre , for their big Oscar Party.
They served lots of delicious food starting in the afternoon.
Then once the Oscars started, we all watched them on the big screen.
It was alot of fun, with a large turn-out of people.
There were prizes given for the most correct guesses.
And... everyone got a Gift Bag that included the sound track from The Queen ,
and a DVD of United 93 .
And I also got a large Dreamgirls poster.
I love watching the Oscars on a large movie theatre screen, in a theatre filled with people. I don't know if I will ever be able to watch them on the little TV screen again.
This event was so much fun.
