The Alcove & Snakes on A Plane
Nothing like a three hour brunch. Some friends and I headed over to The Alcove Restaurant in Los Feliz.
I had the delicious Eggs Florentine. Followed by one of their delicious desserts.
This restaurant in the perfect place to hang out in Los Feliz.
Later that day, I headed over to The Grove to see Snakes on A Plane . ( IMDB.com .)
I love animals. But I am really not a snake person at all.
But I just had to see this movie to see all the scary snakes. And hear the funny lines.
Samuel L Jackson : "Enough is enough! I have had it with these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking plane!"
Very scary and very funny !

Rudolph Valentino - The Sheik
Tonight Hollywood Forever Cemetery had a tribute to Rudolph Valentino (IMDB.com ).
It was the 80th anniversary of his death.
We started the evening by viewing his crypt in the mausoleum.
They had a display of some of his costumes from his films.
Then, a plane flew overhead and dropped rose petals over the cemetery.
This is what happened during Valentinos' funeral service in 1926.
Everyone gathered around on blankets and beach chairs to watch the movie on the mausoleum wall.
It was a short independent film "Daydreams About Rudolph Valentino", followed by "The Sheik" .
It was a warm summers evening. Perfect for watching a movie in a cemetery.

Volunteer Party & Grease
Today was the Annual Volunteer Party at The Egyptian Theatre .
It was attended by 125 volunteers.
We had a great time. Great food. Great fun.
The highlight of the day - and my entire year, I think - was I was selected as one of the Top Seven volunteers for the Egyptian this year. Thats out of around 150 volunteers, or more, total.
I was so happy !

I think some people were wondering if a 40-something year old woman like myself would want a Lord of the Rings Statue. And I absolutely LOVE it !
And if I must say so myself - I totally deserve it ! Ha Ha Ha !!!
Yes, expect me to gloat over my wonderful Award for awhile.
After the Party, the volunteers all got to go into the theatre and watch the Sing-A-Long version of Grease from 1978.
